Day 1 Arrival at Puerto de Sant MaríaWelcome to the Atlantic coastArrival at the hotel in Puerto de Santa Maria on your own. After checking into the hotel we will hold a detailed briefing explaining the route, information regarding the region and GPS-device, as well as the equipment you need for the trip. In case you are renting a bike, we will prepare the bicycle according to your needs and preferences.

Day 2 Puerto de Santa María - Cadiz41.0 kmToday we cycle into the heartland of Cadiz, characterized by wetland, rural areas and a very rich cultural heritage. We leave Puerto de Santa María through the “Toruños marshes park”, which covers more than 1000h inside the Bahia de Cádiz. We will cycle along trails until we cross the Guadalete river to enter the Algaida forest. We will leave the park to continue along the Bahia de Cadiz, famous for its golden sand beaches, passing through fishing villages and flamenco flavoured cities to reach the ancient city of Cadiz.

Day 3 Cádiz – Sanlucar de Barrameda26.0 kmIn the morning, we will take a ferry to “Rota” (40 min journey) to cross the Guadalquivir river. We will start our bicycle day in Rota by taking a small cycling path between fruit trees and fields, which will take us to Sanlucar de Barrameda, well-known for its wine, tapas and fine beaches.

Day 4 Sanlucar de Barrameda – Lebrija40.0 kmLeaving Sanlucar, we will cross a small pine forest before entering into the inland of Cadiz, cycling along the Guadalquivir River. We will be cycling between the undulating landscape and the wetlands, going into the region known as Las Marismas, with great ecological value, rich in flora and fauna, and especially important as breeding and resting area for migratory birds. You will be able to spot endangered species such as the red-knobbed coot, white-headed duck, as well as herons and varies species of birds of prey. The end of our day is Lebrija, a typical white Andalusian village, with a very rich cultural heritage and birthplace of Antonio de Lebrija, author of the first grammar of the Spanish language.

Day 5 Lebrija – Los Palacios44.0 kmToday we will continue the course of the Guadalquivir River, along an asphalted road. Our day will pass between fields, marshes and the river, without crossing virtually no urban areas.

Day 6Los Palacios - Sevilla33.0 kmToday we will leave behind the marshes and the fields. Leaving Palacios we will take the bike path next to a very nice and quiet rural road between olive trees and fields. Before arriving at the Guadira River, we will cross a beautiful natural area. You continue next to the river until reaching iSeville. Once in the city, we will take the fantastic network of bike lanes to get to our hotel. You will have plenty of time to visit this beautiful city and its many monuments such as “ La torre del Horo”, the Cathedral, “La Giralda”, ”La Plaza España”, etc.).

Day 7 DepartureEnd of your cycling adventure. We can provide a transfer back to the point of departure or airport. See you on the next TrekandRide journey!

- Terrain: rural paths, rural secondary roads
- Difficulty: easy (level 1 of 5). Light uphills, two days with more than 50 kms but in a flat area.
- Languages: All the information is available in English, French, German, Dutch
- Minimum age: We recommend children 14 or older who are used to doing sport.
BIKE INFORMATION
If you do not wish to travel with your bike, you can rent a bike from us. Our bikes are all fully equiped with pannier rack and, pannier bag, lock and unpunctuare tires.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
Sevill has international airports. We recommend the arrival in Seville and take the train to Puerto de Santa Maria.
